Update from Pastor Yvel

November 22, 2025

Brothers, sisters, and friends in Jesus’ love!
Greetings to all of you.

You cannot imagine how much we love you because you are supporting our ministry in Haiti with your heart, your money, your love.

Sometime we don’t see how to respond to some problems, but through your unconditional love and provision we did. That’s why we are praying God to bless everything you do, everything you touch, everywhere you go. Glory to God.

Violence continues it way in our country. Rape is current in Port au Prince capital city and in the backcountry. Little girls, teenagers and young ladies are suffering from this crime. That happened in many places where families go; leaving their own houses under gang pressure. Last summer a teenage girl died after she was raped in a camp. The police stations in Carrefour (our town) have been empty without a policeman since April. The area is controlled by armed gangs. They act like judges, policemen or mayors. But God rescued his people! Palma church is receiving people every day to worship God! Please pray that He permit its members to having fellowship together. Last September fourteen we celebrated the 54th anniversary of the church with this subject: “Let your light shine everywhere.” More than 600 persons came to church and worshipped with us. We thank God who permits us to be there to take care of His poor people.

Because of bandits’ actions we sent the orphans to their families and help them the same way we did before where they are at Leogane. Look at the pictures we took with some of them at Leogane church school. It’s better for them to be there instead of Carrefour occupied by bandits who raped, shot and killed men, women, teen and young people.

Schools opened and received children but not safely. So, a bandit chief can announce strike by the violent words anytime he wants and all schools close. Banks, social and economic activities cease, also, during many days. It is better in the backcountry where children are going to school without fear in some places. But many children do not go to school; they remain home because their parents don’t have money to pay for them. We received many of these cases – “children can’t go to school because of money.” We could not help them do it because we don’ t get money to invest that way. So, pray with us the way you can in order to provide to those needs. We will welcome all gifts you desire share with us for scholarships.

Our widows are still there in the houses prepared for them some years ago. Each weekend they received some food from the mission. Medicines are bought for those who are sick. The last couple months one of them, Sister Sylvio, got high diabetes. Doctor asked for a surgery to save her. She was led in the hospital in the backcountry where she had one of her leg cut up to the knee. See her picture with Pastor Jean Yvel Calixte after the surgery. She returned to Carrefour and is cared by our ministry.

Pastor Volmar in Grand Goave church had a stroke last year. He cannot work and his church does not have enough financial resources to take care of him. He is a new weight on our shoulders to help by medicines, food, transportation. Any support for this disabled pastor and the widows will be appreciated.

Last October Hurricane Melissa damaged some towns in the backcountry. More than 20 people died by flood. A river named La Digue killed people, destroyed gardens, carried out all the stuff our people had in their houses at Fond Fabre church (Petit Goave). The sanctuary where they worship is buried under water and sand. We visited them with some consolation words, some money and some rice. Look at pastor Jean Yvel Calixte with a car filled of rice distributed to them three days after the hurricane. It is not enough because they need kitchens materials, drinking water, medicines against infections as the water they are using now is not pure. We are thinking about going there with doctors, nurses, medicines to help our servants and the population, but we do not have money to act. So put in your mind our health project for Fond Fabre population please. God will pay you back.

Theological institute of ministry opened by André Louis to prepare men and women for the ministry is offering services to Christians who desire learning the Word of God. Brothers and sisters from our churches and neighborhood churches joined us there to study in our bible school. Five students who completed their classes are ordained pastors for these churches: Carrefour Dufort, Corail Lemaire, Decouze, Fauché and Grande Plaine. Classes on-line reopened this November with 15 new students because transportation is not available everywhere. Thanksgiving and Christmas are approaching fast. Do you know that many people around the world, mainly Haitian people, do not have bread while in America turkey is available for the families? It is a good time to think about the hungry people in Haiti.

Christmas is coming soon; it is a moment of love of sharing. God has given the example He sent to us a special gift: His Son. He is the more precious of all the gifts! Each one of us should imitate God by lending hands to others with much love in the Christmas season.
Our widows, our children without help, our disabled pastor and widow, our brothers and sisters, victims of injustice and poverty are waiting for your love actions.

Sincerely,

JEAN YVEL CALIXTE
Pastor of Independent Christian Alliance
